Flash freezing simply involves taking all the heat out of something as quickly as possible. Flash freezing removes heat so quickly that it prevents the natural breakdown of foods. This is especially important when working with delicate foods, as those ice crystals are essential in protecting the food for the long haul. Açai is one of those foods that absolutely must be preserved through flash freezing. You can’t just hope to stick the food in the freezer and expect it to be flash frozen, though. You have to make sure that you use the right items to assist in removing the heat as quickly as humanly possible.

Why is it important to remove the heat quickly through flash freezing?

People have long been looking for a better way to freeze açai berries because of the fact that açai is such a powerful healing item. It has almost ten times as many antioxidants as other fruits, and because of that, it can do big things in healing all sorts of different ailments. For instance, antioxidants are important in stopping cancer and in helping heart issues. That, more than anything else, is why people insist on flash freezing açai berries. Flash freezing obviously is not the only way to preserve food, though it is the best way. More so than any other form of food preservation, flash freezing is the most effective way to preserve ALL that the açai berry offers.

The problem with lots of forms of food preservation is that they do not preserve all the good antioxidants in food. For instance, dehydrating food does not preserve the helpful phytochemicals and flavenoids. Heat drying will almost certainly kill these things, and in the end, that will leave you with a food that is all but useless.
